Founder & Creative Director
Patrick Smith is Founder & Creative Director at dboy Creative (dboy for short), a virtual agency providing award-winning creative services including branding, marketing, web design and development, photography, and video production. For over 20 years, Patrick has specialized in B2B marketing, recruitment marketing, and large-scale creative execution. Patrick has worked with hundreds of international, national and regional brands in numerous industries. Select clients include CareerBuilder, Pfizer, Huntington Bank, Bob Rogers Travel, KeyBank, Johnson & Johnson, Thyssenkrupp, Axsium Group, CME Group and Penrose Studios.
Patrick began his career as Creative Director & Designer at the Chicago Board of Trade (now part of CME group), where he developed a talent for applying his creative vision to corporate goals and sensibilities. (This is also where he earned the nickname “Design Boy,” which was quickly shortened to “dboy.”) After founding dboy Creative in 1998, Patrick moved his business and family to Wilmington, NC, in 2006, where he enjoys surfing, photography, and playing the guitar.
